I worked for Airborne Geophysical Surveys based in Calgary Alta. Canada for about 7 years. The Winter of 88, actually it was Jan or Feb of 89 we were working a Job right on the boarders of Alta., BC and the Northwest Territories, the Aurora was very active at the time and that far North it was directly overhead and all encompassing, you could almost touch it, it seemed. Not only was it the most amazing thing I have ever seen but I swear you could Hear it too, just incredible.
